Submarine Generator
Nuclear, diesel, WWII, research, tourist and toy submarines
Submarine Generator builds complete, detailed submarines in one click, from a 170 m ballistic missile boat down to a 30 cm bath toy. Pick one of 21 ready-made boats from a picture gallery, press Surprise Me for a new design, or shape every part yourself with live updates. Every model is built at real size in meters, with bevelled edges, clean UVs and physically based materials that also export to game engines.
One click, a new submarine
Press Surprise Me in the Submarine tab: a new kind of boat with fresh colors rebuilds right in the viewport.

What it makes
- Nuclear attack and ballistic missile submarines: teardrop or long cylindrical hulls, faired sails with sail planes or bow planes, cruciform or X sterns with endplates, skewed 5 to 9 blade propellers or pump-jets, missile and VLS hatches, flank and towed arrays, anechoic tile pattern
- Diesel-electric boats with X or cruciform sterns and red antifouling
- WWII U-boats and fleet boats: wooden casing deck with real limber holes, conning tower with bulwark and wintergarten, deck gun, flak, jumping wire, net cutter, saddle tanks, twin screws and rudders
- Midget submarines with slung torpedoes
- Research submersibles in the Alvin style: viewports, manipulator arms, sample basket, lamps, skids and thrusters
- Bathyscaphes, tourist submarines with big windows and a furnished cabin, acrylic sphere subs
- Work-class and mini ROVs, and a yellow cartoon sub
Hull detail
- Weld seams, hatches with coamings and dogs, periscopes and masts that rise out of the sail, propellers with real blade sections
- Painted hull numbers, draft marks and boot top, adjustable rust, wear and marine fouling, all without z-fighting
Made to move
- Propellers spin, rudders and planes turn, masts rise and arms unfold through drivers, so you can keyframe them without a rebuild
- Real lamps and navigation lights switch on with one toggle
Make Real turns the result into plain meshes for export.

Questions
Which Blender versions are supported?
Blender 4.2 and newer. It is tested on Blender 4.2, 4.5 and 5.2 LTS.
Can I use the submarines in a game engine?
Yes. Use Export, Make Real to get plain meshes with UVs and PBR materials, set Detail to Low for fewer faces, then export as FBX or glTF.
Are the submarines to scale?
Yes. Everything is built in meters: a Virginia-style boat is about 115 m long, a research submersible about 7 m and the bath toy 30 cm.
